We partner with schools and community youth groups in the Bay Area to offer a range of political education workshops and discussion groups geared towards high-school aged youth and adults that work with youth. The intention behind these workshops is to create space for white youth to further develop their analysis of racism and white supremacy, to learn how to challenge their own racism and privilege and to engage them actively in the racial justice movement. Y-Step’s work is focused on working with white youth but we have also collaborated with trainers of color to tailor workshops to multi-racial youth groups.
We have had the privilege of working with the following groups: Alameda County Office of Education Youth Leadership Project, AR-15, BAYAC AmeriCorps, City College of San Francisco, Jewish Youth for Community Action, Lick-Wilmerding High School, Loving Decision Conference, SF Urban Service Project, Teachers for Social Justice, University of San Francisco, White Anti-Racist Summit, and the White Privilege Conference.
